The 2007 Sauvignon Blanc Adama is pleasant and light, well balanced, but without enough of a finish. It would make an acceptable quaffer on a warm, summer day, but it fades fast. There are enough Sauvignon Blanc nuances on the nose and the palate to announce the wine’s origins, but they are fairly subdued, and there is not much herbaceousness, which some may like. The 2006 Sauvignon Blanc Adama has some varietally typical aromas on the nose, and is light and easy. It is friendly enough, and tastes like Sauvignon Blanc, but lacks the finish, depth and penetration of better Sauvignon Blancs, including the Chateau Golan example reviewed in this issue. There is lots of acidity, but not much fruit. It is relatively low in alcohol at 11.5%. This is still pleasing for everyday drinking, though, and will make a nice summer quaffer, good to sip on a porch for uncomplicated drinking. It comes with a twist-off cap. Drink now.
