Barrel matured in French oak barriques (35% new) for 20 months, the 2008 Runholder Pinot Noir gives a medium-deep ruby color and expressive notes of kirsch, dried mulberries and raspberry preserves with hints of mocha and allspice. The palate offers up a good concentration of berry and spice flavors balanced by finely grained tannins, refreshing acid and a long finish. Good now, it should continue to drink to 2015.
