This celebrated estate is owned by Tuscany's Famiglia Cecchi, makers of fine wine in Chianti Classico. The Tenuta Alzatura 2019 Montefalco Bianco Aria di Casa is made with the Trebbiano Spoletino grape and sees some oak aging. This pretty wine is redolent of sweet peach, honey, almond and yellow rose. It is well made, balanced and fresh with evident complexity derived from the oak aging. You can push this 2,000-bottle release to hold a few more years in your cellar.

This is a new wine and a new discovery for me. The 2018 Montefalco Bianco Aria di Casa, a pure expression of Trebbiano Spoletino, offers nice citrus notes with melon and honey, and natural rubber too, with a glossy feel to the palate. With 10 months in wood, this Trebbiano treats you to rich creamy custard-like flavors. Some 6,000 bottles were released.
