The 2015 Macon Villages comes from vines between 25 and 60 years old and sees eight months in tank. It offers apple blossom and subtle granite scents on the nose that opens and gains intensity in the glass. The palate is fresh and vibrant with good complexity for a Macon-Villages, lightly spiced with a twist of bitter lemon imparting edginess on the finish. This is a well crafted wine at a keen price point.

The 2012 Macon Villages has a light commercial nose. The palate is very simple and again, commercial, lacking typicite and nerve on the finish. Drink now. The wines from Maison Trenel were a little inconsistent during the blind tastings.
