The 2009 ROSE is all Agiorgitiko, and it is quite delicious in its youth. These types of wines age and change quickly, so there is no guarantee even six months later that it will still be as fine, but right now it is awfully sexy. Aromatic and tasty, laced with cherry notes while remaining crisp, it is perfectly refreshing, elegant and delicious, fragrant and fruity, but dry. There is only one flaw—I yearn to drink this by the pool on a hot summer day and instead snow is on the horizon. It’s still pretty good, and while it should be fine this summer, those who like pink would be well advised to knock some back now. Drink now-2012. The 2008 ROSE (DRIOPI) is all Agiorgitiko. It has good acidity, and needs it to cut the very fruity demeanor this wine always has, with very obvious cherry notes. It is not quite sweet, but it isn’t shy. This is Agiorgitiko in full flight. That said, it has enough acidity to keep this from going too far to the candied side. The 2007 ROSE (DRIOPI) is all Agiorgitiko, light, very bright and dry, with modest cherry nuances around the edge and nice balance. After it warms up a bit, the fruit projects nice flavor.
