This wine sees about 10% of its fruit sourced from outside vineyards, and the rest comes from Umani Ronchi's own estate. The 2019 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Jorio offers a very complete portrait of the grape with an accessible personality. There is dark fruit, plum, spice and tilled earth that comes thanks to aging in large oak casks and neutral barrel. The wine shows pretty fruit concentration, and the wood tones go almost undetected.

Pretty spice, herb and graphite notes accent ripe, brambly blackberry and boysenberry fruit in this juicy, light- to medium-bodied red. Light tannins define the aromatic finish.
