The excellent 1989 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is even better than the 1993 Sauvignon Blanc and the 1993 Chardonnay Estate Santa Ana. Made from Undurraga's estate vineyards, it is their flagship Cabernet Sauvignon. While it exhibits a generous use of toasty new oak, the wood is well-integrated with the ripe, cedary, cassis fruit. The wine is supple, medium to full-bodied, expansive on the palate, and a delicious example of what Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon can achieve when yields are not preposterously high. It should drink well for 2-3 years. Importer: Kobrand, Inc., New York, NY.
