The 2005 Cenit VDC is an old vine cuvee produced only in top vintages. It was aged in new French oak for 24 months. A glass-staining opaque purple color, it offers up a brooding bouquet of pain grille, pencil lead, lavender, espresso, and blackberry. Full-bodied and dense, on the palate it is tightly wound, structured, and unyielding at the moment. However, it has all the right stuff and the wine is impeccably balanced. Give it another 4-6 years of cellaring and drink it through 2025 if not longer. Importer: Aviva Vino, New York, NY; tel. (212) 244-4495
