Sourced from the Westhofen sites Kirchspiel and Morstein and the Bechtheim crus Rosengarten and Geyersberg, the 2017 Riesling Wunderwerk was aged for two years on the fine lees and was bottled in fall 2019. Released in spring 2023, this golden-yellow colored wine opens with an intense, elegant and aromatic bouquet with matured Riesling aromas. Rich but elegant and refined on the palate, this is a powerful but also finely grippy Riesling with fine caramel bitters on the finish as well as the limestone nerviness of Westhofen. This is a mouth-filling but linear and elegant Riesling with power and tension yet also some bitterness on the finish. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2023.

The 2016 Riesling "Wunderwerk" offers delicate, bright Riesling and white peach aromas along with some dusty/stony and sur lie aromas. This is a medium-bodied, piquant and salty-mineral dry Riesling sourced from younger, 15 to 20 years old vines in the very best vineyards of Bechtheim (Geyersberg and Rosengarten) and Westhofen (Kirchspiel and Morstein). It is clear, pure, salty, crystalline, vital and elegant and provided with stimulating phenolic/mineral grip and tension. Jugendstil Riesling par excellence! Highly recommended!
