The 2004 Muhlheimer Helenenkloster Riesling Eiswein A.P. #22, representing the late pressing of this year’s frozen harvest, smells ominously smoky and radish-like and displays a candied sweetness pitted against high acidity. Concentrated pear drop and lemon candy character inform the intense but as yet rather unformed finish. Formidable if not loveable, it needs to be re-looked at in a year to see how far it has traveled and to conceive of when to best drink it. Importer: Langdon-Shiverick Cleveland,?OH; tel.
