From old vines in the valley floor and also from the Erdener Herrenberg, the 2022 Richter Estate Riesling is a feinherb Gutswein that offers a bright, floral and beautifully slatey bouquet. Lush and round on the palate, this is a crystalline, saline and savory, fruity Mosel classic bottled with a bit more than 18 grams per liter of residual sugar, which comes across as ripe and juicy fruit. The acidity is wonderfully sharp and precise but nevertheless ripe. 10%% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted in May 2023.

The 2021 Richter Estate Riesling (or Riesling Feinherb in some markets) offers a clear and aromatic bouquet of ripe and savory Riesling fruit intertwined with coolish flinty notes. Round and juicy on the palate, this is a savory and salty, very charming and mouth-filling Riesling with stimulating grip and the concentration of partly very old vines cultivated in the cooler side valleys that give more acidity than the vineyards in the main Mosel Valley. This is a convincing, textured and very quaffable Riesling with a stimulating saline finish. 10.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2022.

From younger parcels (30+ years old) in premier and grand crus, the 2018 Richter Estate Riesling opens with a very delicate, bright, remarkably elegant, refined and floral bouquet of iron-rich slate and perfectly ripe, concentrated Riesling fruit. Mainly sourced in the Juffer but also in the Himmelreich and Treppchen, this is a lush and generous but highly delicate and filigreed Riesling with a salty-piquant, intense and mouth-filling finish. The acidity is stunningly fresh but tartaric. This is a gorgeous Mosel Riesling, and I guess this wine has never been any better. Bottled in early March and tasted in late March 2019.

The tangy acidity in this white is balanced by apricot, tarragon and blood orange flavors, with spice notes filling in midpalate. The bright finish follows, showing an intense sweet spice note. Drink now through 2022. 1,500 cases made, 600 cases imported.??–AZ??Region: Germany / Mosel Select to Add
