From the Westhofen Kirchspiel and vinified in Burgundian pièces (30% new oak) until March this year, the 2021 Chardonnay Réserve opens with an intense and dense, very elegant bouquet with a richer nature than the corresponding Weisser Burgunder Réserve from the Steingrube, as well as with some spicy, oak-driven notes. On the palate, this is a full-bodied, intense and elegant, very dense, intense and powerful Chardonnay with concentrated fruit and fine tannins as well as savory salinity on the finish. Still very young, this wine should be aged on the bottle for at least one or two years. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2023.
