The 2022 Westhofener Weisser Burgunder & Chardonnay is predominantly from the Aulerde and the Steingrube and was vinified in stücks and halbstücks (for the Pinot Blanc) and in pièces (for the Chardonnay). Aged on the lees for about 10 months, the wine opens with white and spicy fruit aromas intermingled with some flinty notes. On the palate, this is a medium-bodied yet dense and savory-saline blend with fine tannins and good concentration. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2023.

The 2021 Westhofener Weisser Burgunder & Chardonnay is from those vats that do not undergo the second winter on the lees, like the Reserve, but that are aged in stücks, tonneaux and pièces until July. Bottled just recently, the 2021 shows a very clear and elegant bouquet with chalky notes intertwined with ripe, white fruit aromas and refreshing flinty notes. Very elegant and balanced on the palate, with ripe and elegant fruit, sustainable grippy structure and salinity, this is a medium to full-bodied, finely textured and salivating Rheinhessen Burgundy with noblesse and fine grip. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in August 2022.
