The 2018 Sp?tburgunder Rotwein trocken is very German on the nose—toasty, oaky and fruity, with cherry and wild strawberry aromas and perhaps a bit too open (yet also yeasty) for international palates. Concentrated and fleshy on the palate, this is a fruity, well-structured but quite oaky Pinot that is fine and correct but doesn't really strike me today, although the wine reveals good length and intensity. Well made Pinot. Tasted in April 2020.
