The last ice wine produced at Zilliken is the 2008 Saarburger Rausch Riesling Eiswein, which offers a matured but still fruity and intense Riesling bouquet today (March 2018). Very elegant and lush on the palate, with remarkable acidity and good grip, this is a salty-piquant and terribly fresh Eiswein with concentrated and lingering apricot fruit.

The bright amber colored 1988 Saarburger Rausch Riesling Eiswein is highly delicate and fruity on the nose with very fine raisin aromas. On the palate, this is a legendary Eiswein: intense and complex yet incredibly lithe, precise and filigreed, with great concentration and an elegant, finessed finish. Piquant and salty, with firm grip and serious mineral expression, this is a picture-book Eiswein from the Rausch; six magnums will be auctioned this year in Trier.
