A blend from several estate parcels, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Leonardini Estate is the first vintage to include five Bordeaux varieties; it's 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 5% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc. Despite being aged in 70% new French oak, cherries lead the way, joined by notes of dusty earth, caramel and vanilla. It's a medium to full-bodied wine, fully ripe and supple, with no hard edges and a long, harmonious finish.

A barrel sample, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Leonardini Estate is opaque garnet-purple in color and opens with notes of warm cassis, espresso, fried herbs and cigars with a waft of roasted nuts. The palate is full-bodied, firm and chewy with good concentration if straightforward, finishing with good length.

Composed of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Leonardini Estate was aged for 26 months in French oak, 65% new. Deep garnet-purple in color, warm cassis, blackberry pie and mulberries scents slowly unfurl, giving way to nuances of pencil lead, mossy tree bark and truffles with a waft of cardamom. Full-bodied, the palate is delivering mouth-filling black fruit and compelling tension with a plush texture and a long, savory finish. 1,050 cases were made.

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Leonardini Estate is a little soft spoken and reticent to begin, giving up subtle notes of crushed red and black currants, kirsch and wild blueberries with wafts of cedar chest, wild thyme, tilled soil and iron ore. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a compelling quiet intensity, with firm, ripe, grainy tannins and lovely freshness supporting the crushed red and black berry layers, finishing on a persistent mineral note.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Leonardini Estate displays a medium to deep garnet color and nose of dried Provence herbs, redcurrant jelly, cassis and unsmoked cigars with hints of fallen leaves, oolong tea, black olives and menthol. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has beautiful elegance and purity, with a fine-grained texture and bold freshness, finishing long with loads of red fruit and herbal sparks.
