Peter Lehmann has once again produced fine wines at realistic prices. Readers seeking an under-$20, heavily oaked (American wood) Cabernet Sauvignon will like this Silver Oak look-alike. The 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits a dark ruby/purple color, a heavy overlay of charred, smoky pain grille, full body, excellent richness and depth, good purity, and plenty of sweet, jammy fruit. It will never be a complex Cabernet, but it is mouthfilling, generous, and well-made - assuming readers enjoy a lot of wood. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.
