The 1990 Savigny Les Beaune-Les Vergelesses is slightly more impressive than the 1990 Pernand-Vergelesses-Ile de Vergelesses. The color has a purple hue, and the sweet nose of cherries, oak, and herbs is enticing. In the mouth, this medium-bodied wine displays fine structure, concentration, and balance, as well as soft tannins and low acid in the lusty finish. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. Dubreuil has always made fashionable, elegant, light-colored wines known for their finesse, not to mention their precociousness and easy drinkability.
