The 2006 Shiraz “The Gaffer” (meaning “the Boss”) was aged for 12 months in a mix of new and used French oak. Purple-colored, it exhibits a slightly muted nose of damp earth, cinnamon, pepper, and blue fruits. Supple-textured and full-bodied, the wine has gobs of ripe fruit, layered flavors and excellent balance in its forward personality. Drink it over the next 6-8 years.
