Whole bunch pressed and wild yeast fermented in French oak barriques (15% new), the 2007 Altezza Chardonnay went through 100% malo-lactic and spent 18 months on its lees. It presents a pronounced tropical, guava and green mango nose with nuances of warm apricots, honeyed toast, yeast and a faint nutty / mealy character. Medium-full bodied, silken textured and with good concentration offset by crisp acidity, it finishes long and toasty with some oak poking through. Drink it now to 2014+. Casa Freschi does not currently have a US importer.
