The Tommasi 2017 Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso is a blend of 70% Corvina, 25% Rondinella and 5% Corvinone, and the wine is aged in Slavonian oak casks for a brief six months. This vintage offers extra ripeness and softness with jammy overtones of blackberry or cherry confit. You feel the heat of the vintage trapped within the fruit. However, the mouthfeel is slender and thin despite the ripeness of the bouquet. This is a handy wine for a meal of burger and fries. Production is an ample 600,000 bottles.
