The 2009 Shingleback D Block Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon displays a deep garnet-purple color and earthy notes of damp loam and moss covered tree bark over a core of blackberry preserves and blackcurrant cordial plus hints of cloves and cigar box. Medium to full bodied, it is elegantly fruited in the mouth with youthful, taut, primary flesh that is well supported by firm, fine-grained tannins and crisp acid. The finish is long and layered. It's a very pleasant glass at this youthful stage but promises better things to come and should drink best 2013 to 2022+. Importer: Precept Brands, Seattle WA
