From vines planted in 1938, 1948, 1950 and 1955, the 2017 Lorcher Schlossberg Riesling is excitingly pure and flinty on the crunchy and salty/stony nose with its ripe and well-concentrated fruit aromas. This has a unique and exciting bouquet with vegetal expressions of mushrooms and ripe Riesling fruits with more aeration. On the palate, this is an intense, lush and highly refined Riesling with a crystalline structure, great delicacy and lingering aromatic fruit with a long, firmly structured, crunchy salty-piquant finish with fine tannins. This is another excellent Riesling from Lorch that needs some years to develop all its talents.
