With some 9,500 bottles made, the Ettore Germano estate submits this wine as proof of its expertise in Serralunga d'Alba Nebbiolo. The 2017 Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d'Alba reveals tight red fruit, with waxy cherry and cassis at the front. Those primary tones cede to spice, rusty iron, crushed stone, grilled herb and rosemary essence. The wine shows lots of dimension and a clear, linear style.

Macerated cherry and plum fruit flavors are framed by eucalyptus, iron and black tea accents in this dense, muscular red. The tannins are assertive now, yet there is ample fruit here and a chalky sensation lives a lasting impression.
