The 2006 Clave de Tabula is the product of a single vineyard with alcoholic fermentation in French oak vats, malolactic in French barriques, followed by 12 months in new French oak. Dark ruby in color, it offers up an ethereal nose of toasty, smoky oak, lavender, underbrush, blueberry, and blackberry preserves. On the palate it is the most complex of this quartet; notes of Asian spices and chocolate emerging in the mouth along with stony minerality. Allow 3-4 years of additional bottle age and drink it through 2030.
