Slightly downgraded from previous tastings, the 2005 shares a cool-climate austerity with the 2001, but seems slightly richer, fuller and denser. It possesses a deep ruby/plum color along with aromas of loamy soil, forest floor, fresh mushrooms, black currants, raspberries and sweet kirsch. Medium to full-bodied and complex with moderate tannins and a firmer, overall structure and intensity, this wine appears to be several years away from full maturity. It should last and evolve for another 10-15+ years.
