The 2004 Cote Rotie suggests an international style, with plenty of new oak and sweet black raspberry and cherry fruit intermixed with smoke and pain grille, but the high acid combined with moderate tannins gives the wine a shorter finish than ideal. Nevertheless, the purity, good attack, and mid-palate make for an attractive wine to drink over the next 5-6 years.
