Aged for 15 months in French and Hungarian hogshead (300L) and puncheon (500L) barrels, 30% new, the 2008 Logan Shiraz has a deep garnet-purple color and an expressive nose that is just beginning to evolve into dried mulberry and kirsch aromas with nuances of sandalwood and Chinese five spice. Medium-bodied with a good amount of spicy flesh, it has very crisp acid, a medium level of grainy tannins and a long finish that leaves a hint of pepper. Drink it now to 2015.
