The 2007 Barrica Monastrell contains 10% Tempranillo and spent 8-10 months in American oak. A dense purple color, it displays aromas of underbrush, mushroom, and blueberry. On the palate it has a bit of structure, ripe black fruit flavors, plenty of spice, good concentration, and a medium-long finish. Drink it over the next 5 years. It is an excellent value. Las Renas was founded in 1950 and is located in Bullas in southeast Spain.Importer: Truman Wine Company, Playa del Rey, CA; www.trumanwine.com
