The 2006 Amarone della Valpolicella Case Vecie possesses an extra degree of juiciness and ripeness than the regular bottling. Soft and racy through to the finish, the Pergole Vecie impresses for its seamless personality and exceptional overall balance. As good as the 2006 is, it doesn’t quite reach the heights of the 2003 or 2004. Still, this approachable Amarone should drink well right out of the gate and continue to develop positively for a number of years. Only a slight hint of volatility (not unusual in Amarone, but a bit pronounced here) keeps the score from going higher. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022.
