The 1991 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Gaudichots showed much better compared to the 1990. First, it is endowed with far more freshness and vigour on the nose: rosemary and white fennel, hints of lavender infusing the open-knit black fruit. The palate has a sweet entry, feeling supple but well- balanced in the mouth, with fine tannins and poise on the harmonious finish. I would not leave this too much longer, but for a 20-year-old village cru, this is an outstanding effort. Drink now-2018. Tasted May 2014.
