The 2003 San Petrolo (375 ml) is a drop dead amazing dessert wine. It is hard to expand beyond that statement. The bouquet is incredibly generous and layered with dried figs, prune, caramel, toasted almond, maple syrupy and raw honey. It shows an impressively thick consistency with super extraction and glossy glycerin that is both compelling and long lasting. The wine sits heavy over the palate with meaningful intensity and opulent sweetness. It's hard to image how grape berries can be made into a wine of this outstanding enormity. The workmanship is outstanding and impossible to duplicate.
