The 2006 Valsacro Dioro spent 12-14 months in new French oak. A selection of the estate's best barrels, it exhibits an opaque purple color along with a brooding bouquet of wood smoke, lavender, and spicy black fruits. On the palate, like the Crianza, it lacks the density, structure, and aging potential of the two preceding vintages but has plenty of up-front fruit that will deliver enjoyment over the next 8-10 years.
