The 1999 St.-Joseph (30,000 bottles) was aged in old foudres and barrels. The wine displays a dense ruby/purple color as well as a big, sweet nose of cherries, plums, figs, and currants. It is medium-bodied, with excellent ripeness as well as a soft, plump style. It will drink well for 5-7 years. The stars in this portfolio are the red wine cuvees, which have improved dramatically over the last several years.
