The 1999 Chardonnay Estate Grown has a well-defined bouquet that appears to have lost none of its precision over the last 15 years. It is not powerful at first, but develops engaging dried quince, citrus lemon and mint aromas. The palate is well balanced with a strong saline tang on the entry. It continues with quite a strong sea influence, almost as if there was a little Muscadet in the blend (I assume that is not the case.) Very fine.
