The 2007 Costamolino is primarily Vermentino with a small addition of other local varieties. This is a gorgeous white with layers of perfume-laced fruit that flow from the glass. Made in a linear, minerally style, the wine possesses excellent length, balance and class. In short, it is a terrific entry-level bottling. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2009.
This is a superb set of value-priced wines from Argiolas, one of Sardinia’s historic properties. I am told that at age 102 Antonio Argiolas still pays a daily visit to the property.
