In tasting through the 1995 and 1996 red wines from Fisher, it is obvious that the 1995s are more jagged, with rougher, harder tannin. The wines possess good stuffing, but it will take a few more years of aging for that to become obvious. Fisher's Coach Insignia Cabernet Sauvignons are relatively limited in availability (about 2,300 cases). The 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Coach Insignia exhibits a deep, rich ruby/purple color, a loamy, red currant-scented, elegant bouquet, medium-bodied, structured, restrained flavors, high acidity, and a grapy, rich finish. This wine continues to close down, and should be cellared for 3-4 years upon its release. It should keep for two decades, but I suspect it will be a more angular, structured, tannic Coach Insignia than other vintages. Tel. (707) 539-7511; fax (707) 539-3601
