Dark ruby-colored and exhibiting a nose reminiscent of a bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich on wheat toast, the 2002 Syrah is a soft, medium-bodied wine. Sweet black fruits, licorice, and spices can be detected in its black mass of a flavor profile. Like many Washington State Syrah’s, this wine lacks the precision and focus for a more exalted review.
