The 2007 Valpolicella Classico Superiore Il Ruffiano is a blend of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella harvested and vinified along traditional lines. Dark wild cherries, licorice, leather, earthiness, blueberries and minerals are some of the notes that flow from this medium to full-bodied, hearty red. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2015.
These are the first wines I have tasted from Buglioni, a small property located in San Pietro in Cariano, in the historic Valpolicella zone.
