The 2007 Chardonnay Indian Wells is sourced primarily from the warm Wahluke Slope AVA. The wine was barrel-fermented in 27% new American oak, went through malolactic fermentation, and was aged sur lie for 9 months. Medium straw-colored, it offers up a pleasing nose of toast, baked apple, poached pear, and tropical aromas, especially pineapple. Medium-bodied, smooth-textured, and ripe, this balanced effort finishes with considerable persistence. Chateau Ste. Michelle continues to demonstrate that a winery can be large and quality-oriented at the same time. Their current collection is as good as or better than anything it has done in the past.Tel.
