The 2008 Valdegatiles was sourced from a single biodynamically farmed vineyard with vines over 60 years of age which then spent 19 months in French oak. It exhibits a similar bouquet to the Atauta cuvee but is much more full-bodied, dense, layered and structured. Succulent and well-balanced but tightly wound at present, it requires a minimum of 4-5 years of additional cellaring. Its drinking window will extend from 2015 to 2028.
Dominio de Atauta owns a considerable amount of centenarian Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) vineyard due to the sandy, phylloxera-resistant soil in its estate.
