The 2008 El Puntido, tasted from barrel, is a glass-coating opaque purple color with a classy bouquet of Asian spices, incense, lavender, black cherry, and blackberry. Layered on the palate and plush in texture, this full-flavored offering should evolve for 4-6 years and deliver prime drinking from 2014 to 2028.

Vinedos de Paganos, one of the outstanding Rioja estates, is owned by the Eguren family. The El Puntido cuvee comes from the single Tempranillo vineyard of the same name planted in 1975. It is typically aged in new French oak for 18 months before bottling without filtration.
