The white 2012 Finca Teira is soft, elegant, subtle, with white flowers, minerals, some pollen and beeswax, a balanced palate, with great acidity, delineation and length. Very mineral and impressively balanced and tasty: it makes you salivate. Like licking granite? Great value. 17,000 bottles produced. Drink 2013-2016.
Manuel Formigo is the prototype of successful colleiteiro, taking over from his father, making good wine full of character and developing his business. He’s currently building a new winery on the road from Leiro to Ribadavia where he hopes to ferment his 2013s. He only started his business in 2006 and has built a loyal following. He owns four hectares of vineyards spread over six different plots.
