The amazing 2012 Pinot Noir Clos de Ciel (575 cases) boasts a deep ruby color as well as a sweet perfume of black cherries, damp earth, forest floor, new saddle leather, and raspberries. Rich and medium to full-bodied with a floral component in addition to some tannins in the finish, the result is a slight compression and edginess to the wine as it finishes. This 2012 appears to need more time. I suspect it will hit its apogee in 7-8 years and last 25 or more.
