Aged completely in large foudres, the outstanding 2006 La Croce Proprietary Red, a similar co-fermented blend of equal parts Syrah and Sangiovese, is a perfect choice for an Italian trattoria or French or American bistro. Sweet strawberry and cherry notes intermixed with scents of unsmoked cigar tobacco, cedar, spice, and a hint of roasted herbs are present in this supple-textured, richly fruity, medium to full-bodied, silky, complex, elegant wine.
