I generally prefer Leflaive’s Combettes to their Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatieres, but not in 1996. This magnificent wine exhibits almond, hazelnut, and sweet floral scents. Its ethereal character is filled with pears, minerals, and lemons that seemingly last forever. This Folatieres is medium-to-full-bodied, highly-delineated with the balance to evolve gracefully for twelve years or more. Projected maturity: 2002-2012.
