The two offerings from Bullas (Monastrell territory) include the 2009 Tesoro de Bullas, made from 100% Monastrell and aged for 10 months in seasoned American oak before bottling without filtration. Cedar, underbrush, brier, spice box, and wild blueberries inform the nose of this friendly, easygoing, velvety textured red. It deftly conceals enough underlying structure to evolve for 1-2 years and will be at its best from 2012 to 2019. Majuelos de Espana, headed by Felipe Alvarez, is a negociant group whose grape growers and winemakers are devoted to recovering old Majuelos (Vineyards) across Spain. Majuelos de Espana’s offerings from Ribera del Duero are all barrel samples of 100% Tinta Fine (Tempranillo) from the great 2009 vintage.Importer: Felipe Alvarez, Majuelos de Espana, www.majuelos.com
