Medium to full-bodied, with outstanding concentration, soft tannins, and low acidity, this fleshy yet complex wine, with a style all of its own, is one of the more spicy, aromatic Cabernet-based wines of this vintage.

Last Tasted 8/92I continue to admire the distinctive style of this Cabernet-based wine made in the hills of Sonoma. The cedary, roasted, black olive and cassis-scented nose offers admirable complexity. The 1984 exhibits the velvety texture of the vintage, an opulent black fruit character, and a medium to full-bodied finish. Most of the tannins have melted away in this impeccably balanced wine. Absolutely delicious now, the 1984 Carmenet Proprietary Red Wine should continue to drink well and age gracefully for another 8-10 years.
