The 1997 Zinfandel Paso Robles offers over-ripe prunes, plums, and cherries in the nose, explosive fruit, copious glycerin, and a full-bodied, chewy, seductive character. It should be drunk over the next 4-5 years. The 1997 Zinfandels are all high in alcohol, largely because of vintage conditions. All are slightly more successful than Ridge's very fine 1996s.
