From 40- to 70-year-old Tinto Fino vines from Quintana del Pidio, the 2011 El Quintanal has a slightly reduced, tinny bouquet. The palate is very compact and primal with chunky, brazen tannins on the finish neatly complemented by some juicy black fruit. Once that nose is given bottle- age to open, this will be a fine, easy-drinking Ribera del Duero wine. Drink 2014-2018.
